Leprechaun’s Vault Review

When you first lay eyes on the pipe smoking Leprechaun on the splash screen, you may think that Leprechaun’s Vault is yet another Irish folklore cliché. In a way you are correct in that assumption, but Play’n Go has gone the extra mile to make the visual presentation more lively and charming than usual. In addition, you get to meet more characters than usual as well, as you enter into the Leprechaun village.

Features of Leprechaun’s Vault Slot

The premium symbols pay between 5 and 37.5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and you have money bag Multiplier Wilds to help you out in all stages of the game. The money bag Wilds can land on the 3 middle reels only, and they step in for pay symbols to complete wins. Each Wild comes with a multiplier of x2, x3 or x4, and if several multiplier wilds are part of the same win the values are added together before being applied. You need 3 key scatters in view to trigger the Treasure Bonus Round, and the Leprechaun will then spin the combinations on the vault lock to determine how many free spins you get. The lock combination can award up to 24 FS at best, and all multiplier wilds that land become sticky for the remainder of the bonus round. You cannot retrigger the feature, and wilds land on reels 2, 3 and 4 with multipliers up to x4, same as in the base game.

The 200 Spins Experience of Leprechaun’s Vault Slot

You get to see a few near-miss bonus round teasers, as well as some wild multiplier wins, before we finally land the 3 keys we were waiting for. This happens exactly 1 minute into the 3:22-minute highlights video, and we got 11 free spins from the vault lock spin. You can see for yourself how many sticky multiplier wilds we racked up by hitting the play button below.

Review Summary

We’ve seen plenty of Leprechaun installments over the years, but it’s not all that often you get to meet the whole village. They are a chatty bunch as well, which adds to the charm, and combined with all the animations Leprechaun’s Vault adds up to a pretty solid Irish folklore release. The features are hardly revolutionary of course, but multiplier wilds have become a cliché for a reason. The solid 9,000x potential can be cracked from the base game if enough multipliers combine, but you’re more likely to close in on such numbers when the bonus round hits. This is hardly unusual, of course, and sticky multiplier wilds have proven deadly effective in all sorts of games. Sometimes predictable features wrapped in a well-made and familiar theme is all it takes for a good time, and that’s exactly what you get in Leprechaun’s Vault.
